Alex and I are (finally) going on our honeymoon this summer, to the Rockies for a backpacking trip. It's actually glamping more than backpacking. I'm very excited. Of course, I need a whole new activewear/hiking wardrobe...

First up: the Sewaholic Pacific leggings. These are a size 6 with no alterations, and the insides are all serged (except the gusset, which, like Crozette, I zig-zagged), which means it took me about as long to sew as it did to trace my pattern. I used supplex from Spandex World, which is thick and opaque.

When I make a second pair (because I will), I may shorten them about an inch (for reference, I'm 5'7"). I may also change up the gusset; I noticed a lot of my rtw leggings have a triangular, not diamond-shaped gusset, which is a bit less bulky (and seems easier to sew).

And do you like my tee? It's from Cotopaxi, a brand I just discovered. I love their little llama!

This is replacing a similar style shirt from Target--but this tee, unlike my target one, is providing a week of clean water through WHOlives. Cotopaxi also use recycled fabric in their backpacks and high manufacturing standards in their factories. I have my eye on their Kusa jacket which has llama wool insulation!
If you want to order something they have nicely offered 15% off and free stickers with code STICKERME. (They aren't paying me to say this, by the way, I just like them.)
Have a nice weekend, everyone. Go outside!
xoxo,
allie
ps: i will note about the Spandex World supplex that i ordered three colors (black, coral, and sea spray) and they all seem totally different--the coral is more swimsuit-y feeling, the black feels the most "fitness-y" and the sea spray is the softest.

These look awesome! I'm going to try again soon, too. I've worn them a lot for running but would like a more versatile color like yours, too.
ReplyDeleteOoh, these look great! I think really good fabric makes all the difference!
ReplyDeletewell it looks like i need to add this pattern to my to do list! These look like they fit really well. Does the fabric you used feel like compression fabric like the under armour?
ReplyDeleteThese look great! I might need to make a pair to wear to my dance classes... I really don't like to buy fabric online but supplex is so difficult to find in stores.
ReplyDeleteThose are definitely bootylishious to say the least. I just bought a athletic pant pattern to give it a go. Nice job here.
